The current situation…

With the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic looming over us all, it is the people living in developing countries that will suffer the most. There is no furlough for these people. If they don’t earn, they don’t eat. It is as simple as that!

That’s why we have teamed up with our partners on the ground to provide 50,000 meals this Ramadan to help ease some of their suffering and give people hope of a brighter tomorrow.

How it works…

Due to social distancing, we cannot risk feeding people iftars in the traditional way, that’s why we have taken the decision to provide 3 nutritious meals per day for an average family of 6 people that they can take away with them to support their families.

Why Rohingya?

As with most countries, Bangladesh is facing a catastrophe worse than ever before, but in a country where almost 40 million people are living in abject poverty, this pandemic poses a much greater threat than developed countries. The risk of contracting the disease in the Rohingya camps is at an all-time high and we must act now to ensure the safety of the refugees.

It is estimated that within the next 3 months, 10 million more people will be plunged into poverty through no fault of their own. We must ensure that we are ready for these people when they need us the most.

The costs

It costs just $50 to provide a hygiene and food pack containing everything people will need to get them through this tough Ramadan.

We will provide culturally sensitive food packs containing all the essentials including rice, flour, sugar, soap, sugar, lentils, and spices to help get people through this crisis.
